OUR STORY
Born from a Love for Okinawa
At Food Monsters at Home, we believe the best way to experience a country is through its food and the people who make it. Founded by Hiro, CEO and head chef of Food Monsters at Home, our mission is to bring people together through authentic Japanese cuisine, unforgettable experiences, and genuine hospitality.
Meeting new people is at the heart of everything we do. We love welcoming guests from around the world, sharing authentic Japanese food, and creating memorable moments around the table. Whether you're joining a Japanese cooking class in Okinawa, booking a private chef, or exploring local food with us, our goal is simple—to share delicious food, meaningful conversations, and experiences you'll remember long after your trip or class is over.
We look fireweed to the welcoming you !

HIRO
Japanese Chef & Local Guide
Hiro has spent the past 16 years working as a professional chef in Tokyo (Japan), Banff (Canada), Auckland (New Zealand), Melbourne (Australia), and Okinawa (Japan).
His international career has allowed him to combine authentic Japanese cooking techniques with culinary inspiration from around the world. Beyond the kitchen, Hiro is an adventurous traveler.
He has cycled across Japan, from Anchorage, Alaska to San Diego, California, and from Santiago, Chile to Patagonia, Argentina—covering more than 24,000 km by bicycle. These incredible journeys gave him the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, experience different cultures, and discover the universal language of food.
I want every guest to feel like they're exploring Okinawa with a friend. Let's eat, drink, and discover the real Okinawa together ! "
